A stranger in the room.

Last night I took an Auditioning for Music Theatre Class with David Caparelliotis from Manhattan Theatre Club (www.mtc-nyc.org). Our assignment was to bring in an audition song that showcased not only our voice, but also ourselves as a whole… from personality to character range. Not knowing many of the people in this class prior to it’s start, I was reminded of how much our material selection can reveal who we are. After all, there are a thousand things that we cannot control about the (often frustrating) process of auditioning. I am newly inspired to fill my book with music that is most exactly me. This week I sang Aretha Franklin… next week, who knows?aretha.jpg
